A blocked DPF builds back-pressure that starves the turbo of airflow and forces the engine to work harder for every mile. In our Hanley workshop we run a three-stage chemical flush that dissolves compacted soot, then use a controlled forced regeneration to burn off what remains at the right temperature. With flow restored, exhaust gases exit freely, throttle response sharpens, and many drivers notice a lighter feel in the lower gears plus better fuel economy on the very next fill-up.

When passive regens fail, soot loads climb fast. Rising pressure strains temperature sensors, turbo seals and injector tips, and limp mode soon follows. Short trips only speed up the spiral. Cleaning the filter before it reaches the danger zone stops that snowball effect. Live data on our scanner shows soot mass and back-pressure (kPa) dropping in real time, proving the system can now protect itself through normal driving rather than emergency measures.

A healthy DPF is essential for low emissions and an MOT pass. Excess soot can push smoke opacity over the legal limit and trigger an instant fail; tampering or deleting the filter risks fines and void insurance. Our in-house clean restores the factory filtration rate, clears stored faults, and resets adaptation values so you can roll into the test lane with confidence—without paying for a new filter.
