How it works

Off-vehicle cleaning for HGV and commercial filters

HGV DPF cleaning with us is an off-vehicle service. Your own workshop or fitter takes the filter off the truck, and it comes to us at 201 King Street, Fenton, either dropped off by hand or sent in the post. The vehicle doesn’t need to come to us at all.

When the filter arrives we inspect it for cracks, a melted core or damaged housings, then test how restricted it is so you know what we’re dealing with. We clean it to remove the ash and soot that regenerations leave behind, then test it again to check the flow has come back.

Our new DCS-20L machine supports HGV filters. Every HGV filter is priced on quote, so send us the filter details or part number and we’ll tell you what we can do and what it will cost before any work starts.

3

We call you to collect it, or send it back if it came by post.

Why clean it

Why clean an HGV filter rather than replace it

Every regeneration burns soot off, but it leaves ash behind. Most of that ash comes from additives in the engine oil, it doesn’t burn, and it builds up in the filter over time. As it builds, back pressure rises, fuel economy suffers and regenerations get harder to finish.

Cleaning takes that ash out of the filter you already have. A sound filter that is only blocked doesn’t need replacing, and a clean usually costs much less than a new unit. A blocked or failing DPF can also cause problems at the annual test, where emission control equipment is checked.

HGV and larger commercial filters are priced separately, on quote, because the price depends on the filter’s size and type, its condition and how it reaches us. We never guess at a turnaround: we’ll give you a time when you book. If we find a filter is cracked or melted, we’ll tell you before going any further.

Got the part number?

Who it’s for

Who we clean HGV and commercial filters for

If your vehicles spend hours idling, crawling through traffic or running short multi-drop routes, regenerations don’t always finish, and the filter blocks sooner. These are the customers we hear from most.

HGV and lorry operators

Owner-drivers and hauliers who want a blocked filter cleaned rather than replaced.

Commercial vehicle operators

Larger vans, trucks and other commercial vehicles with bigger filters, priced on quote.

Fleets

Mixed fleets of cars, vans and trucks. See fleet DPF cleaning for how we work with fleets.

Truck workshops

Workshops that remove filters for their customers and need them cleaned off-site.

Garages

Garages sending us car, van and commercial filters. See trade DPF cleaning.

Operators further away

Anyone outside Stoke-on-Trent who would rather post the filter in.

Remapping and AdBlue

Need a remap or an AdBlue repair?

We work alongside our sister companies. ECU remapping is done by Pro Remapping, from the same Fenton workshop, and AdBlue and NOx faults are handled by AdBlue Specialist.

FAQ

HGV DPF cleaning questions

Can’t see your question? Call 07827 533529 or see all FAQs.

Do you clean HGV and lorry DPFs?

Yes, as an off-vehicle service. The filter is taken off the vehicle, then dropped off at our Fenton workshop or posted to us, and we clean it. Our new DCS-20L machine supports HGV filters.

How much does HGV DPF cleaning cost?

HGV and larger commercial filters are priced on quote. The price depends on the filter’s size and type, its condition and how it reaches us. Send us the filter details or part number and we’ll confirm the price before any work starts.

What do you need from me for a quote?

The filter’s part number if you have it, the vehicle make, model and year, what the vehicle has been doing (warning lights, derates or failed regenerations), and whether you plan to drop it off or post it.

Do you take the filter off the truck?

No. HGV cleaning is off-vehicle only, so the filter needs to come off before it reaches us. Your own workshop or fitter can remove it and refit it afterwards.

How long will it take?

It depends on the filter and how it reaches us, so we don’t promise a set time. We’ll give you a time when you book.

What if the filter is cracked or melted?

We inspect every filter before cleaning. Cleaning can’t repair a cracked or melted core, so if a filter is beyond saving we’ll tell you before going any further.

Can you clean the vans and cars in our fleet too?

Yes. Drop-off cleaning for car and van DPFs starts from £100 + VAT, and prices may vary depending on the filter, its condition and the job. See off-car DPF cleaning for how it works.
