DPF Cleaning for Vans, Taxis and Commercial Vehicles
If you run a diesel van, taxi, or fleet vehicle, chances are you’ve seen the DPF warning light more than once. Trade vehicles are often pushed harder, idled longer, and driven on short routes — all of which can lead to a blocked diesel particulate filter.
We work with trade customers daily, helping commercial vehicles stay on the road without the cost of DPF replacement. Our garage-based and postal cleaning services are ideal for high-mileage vehicles that can’t afford long downtime or unreliable cleans.
Why Commercial Vehicles Are More at Risk
While most modern diesels suffer from occasional DPF clogging, taxis, vans and fleet cars are far more likely to run into problems. Here’s why:
- Long periods of idling (especially in taxi queues and traffic)
- Low-speed driving around housing estates, sites, or towns
- Short, repeated trips with little opportunity for regeneration
- Incomplete servicing or incorrect oils that increase soot levels
The result? Soot and ash build up in the filter faster than regen can burn it off. The back-pressure rises, and the warning lights begin to flash.
How We Help Fleet and Taxi Operators
We offer two cleaning methods depending on the severity of the blockage:
1. On-Car DPF Cleaning
Ideal for mild to moderate soot levels. Our on-car cleaning service includes a full flush while the DPF stays fitted, along with pre- and post-pressure readings. It takes around 1–2 hours and can often be done while you wait.
2. Off-Car Refurbishment Cleaning
For fully blocked filters or when the light won’t go off, our off-car DPF clean gives the best result. We remove the filter, flush it internally, dry it completely and then test the flow against factory spec.
This is our most popular service for taxis and trades that can’t afford repeat issues. We even clean filters posted to us from across the UK.
Time Off the Road – Reduced
We know that vehicle downtime costs money. That’s why our garage service offers same-day turnaround where possible. For filters sent by post, we clean and return within 2–3 working days.
All postal jobs include tracked delivery both ways, plus printed test data showing how well the filter has recovered.
Save on Fuel, Avoid MOT Failure
A blocked DPF doesn’t just reduce power — it increases fuel consumption, adds turbo stress, and can trigger MOT emissions failures. Regular cleaning helps avoid costly repairs and keeps your vehicle running more efficiently.
We recommend combining filter cleaning with engine carbon cleaning every 40–60k miles for turbo and EGR health. It’s preventative, takes under an hour, and helps reduce future DPF build-up.
Optional ECU Remapping
We also work with remapping services for customers looking to optimise engine behaviour post-cleaning. This is useful for improving regeneration frequency or economy (note: we do not delete or disable DPF systems).
